Saw him at Gary’s Wines.. Things where so rushed and confused, when I got up to him. I was so busy trying to figure out if I could take a picture with him and my conehead painting, that I forgot to snap a photograph of the kid in front of me getting his autograph. Had the camera in my hand, too. He just wanted a shot of him talking to Dan…I feel really guilty about that, so I hope he heard about this appearance and rectified it.
Then when I got up to Dan, I snapped a quick photo of him for the kid, and forgot to even say hi to him as he was autographing my photos :)…not to mention nearly forgot to take my painting with me as I left :). This is why I generally hate these quick autograph lines, as it’s too easy to come off like a confused bafoon and embarrass yourself :).
I didn’t even get his opinion on my painting, but I guess he liked it enough to take a photograph with me holding it. If he has another NJ appearance, I’ll probably make a duplicate to give to him, complete with frame. Now I’ve just gotta find a wall projector or a 200x equivalent.
That’s how the line was at this signing. He was an hour late for a 2 hour signing, so needless to say, they rushed everyone through. His people would NOT let me get my pack signed. I waiting for 2 1/2 hours with the thing on my back and no signature. He did complement it but I wanted a sig! I did get my vodka signed though, and I got to say 2 sentences to him so I guess it wasn’t a total loss.
