I got the shell in yesterday, and DUDE!! It is a work of art!
I love this thing! He put in alot of hardwork on this beautiful shell!
I put it on the MMM mobo and it is a very very good fit, the only over hang is under where the gun mounts there’s maybe like 2 inches of aluminum going past the where the shell curves in above the cyclotron.
It matches the top corners great, the entire left side, the middle of the cyclotron its just in that little area.
I plan to just spraypaint that area and use it as is.
Will post pics as soon as I can.

Very glad you like your shell! Would be interested in seeing pics of how it sits on the MMM mobo. The 2" of aluminum showing on the right side between the gun box and the top cosmetic plate of the cyclotron is how the motherboard is supposed to fit. MOTHERBOARD UPDATE:
Well, as it often goes with someone in the prop world trying to get a machine shop to do something, the waterjet guy is keeping me waiting. His first promise of last week didn’t pan out, and I kept on him at the beginning of this week. His latest promise is next Tuesday, but I’m not holding my breath. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.
I shopped around, and the other laser/waterjet cutters wanted 2 to 3 times as much in price, so I’ll have to stick with this guy, at least for the first batch. The good news is that I’m continuing to make shells so that they’ll be ready to send out with the motherboards when I get them. Thanks for being patient everyone as I get this off the ground.
Thanks for the update. I’m anxiously waiting to see one of these with the Motherboard and I cant wait to get mine in my hands. 3 packs to build…It’s going to be a fun summer.

Also, since I’ve been making several shells while waiting for the motherboards, I’ve gotten much better at my fiberglassing technique. With some tips from Vince and a lot of practice, included here are some pics of the inside of my latest shell. Hi I was wondering does anyone have a | alkaline | shell pack and how well does that fit with the motherboards that DL4567 is selling?
I am interested in buying one, but if it doesn’t fit then obviously I’d be wasting my money.
I would think that this motherboard would fit an alkaline shell extremely well and they were both built very closely to Stefan’s plans.
BTW, your mobos look great, Derek! Nice snug fit, where were you back when I first started shell shopping?
