I really need to get to finishing my pack since I was the one to start the thread. However, there are certain details that I want to refine before committing to drilling any holes in the pack shell.
As far as holes go, it depends if you are using threaded inserts or if you are going to try and thread the elbows in or if you are going to glue them in place. Each option requires a slightly different drill bit.
The best thing you can do is get yourself what is called a drill bit guide. It is basically a piece of plastic with different sized holes in it that are marked. Either that or get a circle template from an art supply store that has different hole sizes marked. Test fit your piece until you find a hole that fits, make note of the size and there you go.
