Here it is, what you have all been waiting for… I introduce to you the most accurate Gigameter to date:

It is all built off of a Redman Scrubber ‘N’ Buffer. All the parts including the cap were precision laser cut. None of the add on parts were cut by hand to make sure everything is symmetrical. It was entirely built off of 720 screen caps from Ghostbusters 2 and the Star Trek 6 Bluray.

Kit will include:

x1 Top casting

x1 Bottom casting

x1 Display cap

x1 Red plastic for the display screen

x1 Inner dome

x1 Cross section for outer dome (must be heat bent over outer dome. Outer dome not included in the kit)

HEMI35001750ACLR - 3.50" Dia x 1.75" High x .118" Thick Clear Acrylic Hemisphere - $16.45

The final casts will be cast in Smooth-On smooth cast 322 (pigmented black) and the price would be $200 shipped. Years have gone into this build and I would like to offer all of you this fantastic piece.

Please note that mold release is used on these pieces, so it is suggested that you clean the parts thoroughly with dish soap to ensure that the paint sticks properly.

in your build thread, you showed a few more pieces that aren’t mentioned here… namely the motor holder and LED holder. will these be included in the kit? what else would be needed for this thing to be functional as seen in GB2?

No those parts are for my personal Gigameter. Im not selling a complete kit, just the pieces that are hard to find. To complete a GB2 Giga you would need two domes, lighting and the microphones. Also you would need to figure out the gearing for the microphones and the motor assembly for the spinning dome.

I know I have not had any updates lately, but I was trying to get a lot of projects completed as I had a booth at Phoenix Comicon. The Giga was in attendance there in full working order. There were a few pieces missing on it as I was running out of time to get it completed.

As for the castings, I just need to remake one part of the top mold because I do not like how difficult it is to mold and I have a better way of doing it. Im hoping to get to that this weekend and then track down a pressure tank that will accommodate these molds. Stay tuned.
