Seriously, Dan, everyone has to start somewhere. If this kid is showing the interest and initiative to get out and have fun making films then more power to him. Starting at his age he will learn tons of stuff that will only improve with time and experience. He’ll probably be a better film maker than you in the long run, don’t laugh, I’ve seen it happen. The kid has heart and is trying. Where as you, Dan, appear to be a film student snob who may know a lot about movie making technicalities but have very little in the people skills department.
I’m glad the other two are done with the discussion, because I’m not. Which means now I won’t have to read anything else from them… Unless of course it’s the dreaded internet and they can’t stay away from a good “internet fight.” Time will tell.
Here’s the point, you’ve god these “skillz” then you should be able to show them off, 60 seconds of footage is really nothing. And from your “skillz” you should know that, all I’m asking is litterally a day of shooting and a day of editing, I also don’t understand why it’s going to take so long ot get one of your friends to do voice over work. But none the less, I will still wait patiently.
I’d also like to throw out a personal thank you to those starting to toss names around. I’ll be sure to refrain, because you’ve already sunk below what many would say is “my level.”
I also find it hard to believe that you got an associate in film direction from a community college since they only have theatre arts as a major. (I checked the site just to disprove you and that you are full of ■■■■)

But anyhow, it’s not that he “has” to prove anything, I’m actually curious to what degree this kid has “skillz.” That’s what he said, so I’m honestly curious, and all you all can see that as is open hostility. But that’s okay, because as it goes on I can maintain my position and it just makes you all angry. So, bonus.
And you ever thought that maybe he needs someone to be angry at? It gets thing done a lot faster with a lot more passion, so while you all can think what you want, I’m looking foward to seeing what this kid can do.

And thank you Ectoman, but once again you would be wrong. I tripulated into my degree two years ago before thier class line up changed. As it happens I’m one of five remaining directors degrees from that school. Thank you for doing a backup check on me, perhaps you’d also like to make sure I actually work for a living? He’s 12 for god sake. Plus why does he need someone to be angry with? That’s not motivation at all. Making him angry so he turns out a product faster means that he’s trying to prove himself. I understand that you’re curious as to what he can do, we are as well, but you could’ve been more supportive instead of spewing yourself righteous film ■■■■. All it would’ve taken is a simple " that’s cool, looking forward to seeing what you got" that’s it. But instead you tell him pretty much that what he’s doing sucks, his equipment is ■■■■ and that he needs to have a film test to you by next week. What the hell?
The degree and experience talk wasn’t aimed at you. It was aimed at others during the conversation, but it’s really not a big deal.
Think what you want, call me names if you will, but I am honestly interested to see just what you can do. I take a lot more joy in people proving me wrong, because honestly learning something new is pretty much the bee’s knees. You don’t have to believe me, but I am looking foward to seeing what you come up with, and if in fact it has “the skillz” as so have said, I will be sure to apologise, and reverse my thinking on the subject.
That’s all I was trying to say as well Dark maybe I’m getting a little nasty but I’m just giving back what is dished out but for the civility of the thread I will presonally apologize to Dan for my accusations but I still think you need to be nicer to Hyfive. Like I said wait till it comes out to help him where he needs improvement but until then let him do his thing!
