Ghostbusters: Displaced Aggression - New pages (July 3rd)

“My 1955 Counterpart should be able to repair the time circuits.” (movies which I love, btw)

Love that movie series as well Ghostbusters LMLIII. the first is classic, but personal favorites were part 2 and 3. mosly part two (flying delorean, Time hopping to fix the present, ending up basically going into the first movie).

yeah… that movie was the first time travel film to do just that.

wonder if they’ll have any awkward “other self” moments in the new GB comic.

Aye, license holders work in mysterious ways sometimes. I did some writing work for IDW on Transformers, and Hasbro is involved in every step of the process. Every creative and editorial decision has to go through them first, and they’ll make some surprising choices and requests sometimes. I doubt much is different with Sony by the sounds of it.

Another uninspired boring looking comic for me not to buy.

As much bull 88 MPH put us through… I miss thier comics.

There’s really only so many ways you can depict the Ghostbusters in comic form.

Hey White Rabbit! Thanks for the heads up. I was actually told just recently exactly what happened, so my head scratching days are over. Apparently Sony took ■■■■■■’ ages deciding on Lobdell’s story, so I was asked to pitch a story different to Scott’s one. They approved Displaced Aggression the same time IDW sent my story through, and while I was told that my story would’ve made a great comic, the time frame of it all meant D.A. would go into production immediately.

Overall, not too bad, hopefully I’ll get another shot once I’ve got more Turtles work out there.

Ahh yeah, that sort of thing can happen alright. The comics biz is not without its timing gaffes, eh? I can certainly attest to that as well.

True that, true that. Still, you love doing what you do so you keep on doing it regardless. “Sometimes shit happens”…

Nice. I’m liking the art for that. Good find Kingpin.

I also seemingly found the original “The Other Side” #1 cover art, while perusing his blog:

Those’re awesome. Great to see them finished.

On the haunted hotel cover… is it me or does it look like they added a silencer to the thrower?!

This is the first issue summary I’ve seen so I thought I’d post it looks like this Gozer thing just gets worse and worse

And it looks like there’s going to be a variant cover available.

Sigh…how did we ever get by all those years, not having just about everything somehow related to Gozer?

Seriously? Can’t these people come up with something else? Maybe do some research and use another kind of god or demi-god from some other civilization’s pantheon? Too lazy? Too bad.

I’m sure it will be fine. I always thought it would be interesting to have the higher up of a god they had battled before be a little scorned at their pawns failure. Similar in fashion to what’s happened in the GB video game, but differnt at the same time. I dont know. I too am a little dissapointed that it HAS to be Gozer related, but whatever. I can deal.

Still loving all the artwork they’ve released so far, which has me a lot more excited for this than I would’ve been had they used the same artists from The Other Side. The story sounds a bit odd, and kind of stale-ish, but I’m excited nonetheless.

Well, let’s see…this mini-series introduces Gozer’s father. The Marvel UK comics introduced Gozo, Son of Gozer, and Horg the Gozarian, Gozer’s Scottish redneck brother. I think all we need is Gozer’s dog, a skanky Mary Sue cousin, and Hoppy the Gozarian Bunny to complete the set. I think I know what my proposal to IDW will be.

I want to see a picture of this Fritz, you may be on to something, lol.

I guess they are trying to develope Gozer as a constant antagonist like batman and joker or something, the only problem with that is that the first movie pretty much established that the Ghostbusters can defeat Gozer with their regular equipment, it wasn’t even much of a showdown really, and now that they know what will destroy it, even more so. But I will wait to read the comic to make any final judgement call.

So THAT’S why Venkman looked like David Tennant! I kept wondering why Doctor Who was in the comic…
