GHOSTBUSTERS VS ???

Sorry if this has been discussed before – I wasnt sure if this was the right thread to broach this topic.

I’ve been holding discussions with a fellow nerd for a few days now about the Boys in Beige tackling some of the supernaturally villainous icons in cinema. I was curious as to what you think about how they would classify these movie monsters and how the Ghostbusters would go about dealing with them.

The topics that have been brought up so far have been Ghostbusters VS –

Michael Myers “Halloween”

Freddy Krueger “A Nightmare on Elm Street”

Charles Lee Ray (AKA Chucky) “Childs Play”

The Cenobites “Hellraiser”

I’ve been following the GB canon established in the two films and the recent video game staring the original cast. And I disregarded all cartoon canon and fan fiction (including Ghostbusters VS Freddy).

How do you think the Boys would deal with these characters if they were to ever encounter them. Discuss amongst yourselves.

I don’t know how you can disregard fan fiction, when that’s exactly what you’re participating in. You’re just not filming it. You’re fictionalizing adventures that the Ghostbusters would have against the beings you’ve listed. To disregard other well regarded material on those subjects simply because you didn’t come up with it seems very odd.

Technically, if you accept The Video Game as cannon, then you should also accept Freddy vs Ghostbusters. Ed Spengler (star of FvsGB) and his relationship to Egon is acknowledged in TVG. Just sayin’.

Well it’s only established so far as that Ed is the name of Egon’s nephew. The whole thing where he grows up and becomes a Ghostbuster is still pure fan-fiction. It’s no-more canon than Dana Barrett’s son Oscar joining the ranks like so many fans are convinced is going to happen.

It’s still dumb of the OP to disregard fan-fiction while creating fan-fiction, though.

I would like to see The Ghostbusters battle the ghosts in poltergeist that would be awesome or maybe a Werewolf and they had to investigate like who it was and try to find a cure for his curse or Egon could whip up a weapon that would kill the werewolf or the exorcist they could accompany the priest and protect him .they could have been present when the devil transferred to the priest and they could use the slime pack to nueturalize the priest and satan like they did in the video game to get the posessors to leave the bodies and actually trap satan. or you know they could bust those freaks from jersey shore those mutants lol
