Help needed: Replacement/Fix for legacy "Fincher Technologies" E-Cig Vent Kit (2014)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some help with my Proton Pack built back in 2014. It features a Fincher Technologies e-cig vent kit.

Unfortunately, the smoke unit (the clearomizer) died recently. The pump and electronics are still working fine, but the coil is burnt out.

I tried to repair it myself by buying a replacement tank (Kangertech T2 2.4ml), but I am hitting a wall with the installation. The original unit had the wires soldered directly to the tank housing and center pin. I tried to replicate this on the new tank, but I am struggling to get the solder to stick to the chrome housing, and my soldering equipment seems insufficient for this delicate job.

My question: Does anyone know where I can find a “plug and play” replacement for this old Fincher kit? Or is there anyone here who sells pre-wired and modified Kangertech T2 2.4ml that I could simply attach into my existing setup?

I am located in Switzerland and would obviously cover all shipping costs.

Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated to get my pack venting again!

Thanks and happy holidays, Sergio

It looks like Fincher updated the design to use ring terminals screwed directly to the lower components in favor of manual soldering. Considering that the tank section appears not to have changed, could you not do the same thing? Seems to me like a mechanical connection would be superior to a solder one.

Looking around, it appears this is the type of connection in question:

Surely there are vape shops which might have something similar? Not that it’d hurt to order a $2 part off AliExpress, but if you can get it locally all the better. They are apparently also called a “Squonker”: MM510 V1 Squonker (SS/16mm*0.5mm)

Thanks Nomake Wan for your reply and the pic! This explains a lot.

The solution with the ring terminals and the mechanical connection looks much cleaner and sturdier than my desperate soldering attempts on the chrome housing. It definitely makes sense why Fincher updated the design to this.

However, sourcing the specific Squonker on the picture and the other parts and building this custom assembly from scratch seems difficult for me, especially finding the right components… again thanks for this solution and idea if this is the only way i will try it.

Has anyone else built a similar adapter or have the parts? Or does anyone happen to have a spare, pre-assembled connector unit (like the one shown above) lying around?

I would be more than happy to buy it from you (covering costs + shipping to Switzerland, of course) to get my pack venting again.
