I’m new here on this site. I’ve just started getting into putting together my GB Uniform an it’s still kinda a work in progress. I don’t have this right uniform they use in the movie, I’m getting the hang of wat I’m suppose to use. I’ve even found a gray Uniform to use for the GB2 uniform. It’s expensive, but I know where to get it. I need to save money for it, and get a second job. I would like to know where I can get some of the other side gadgets that the use also. I’m also glad to be apart of the Dallas Ghostbusters. I am there 1rst Winston Zeddimore, and am excited to be apart of them. I’ve always wanted to become a real Ghostbuster, I remember when I was 4 years old watching the end of GB@ saying “When I grow up, I want to be a Ghostbuster.” Now my childhood dream will come true. ![]()
Welcome to the site!
Why thank you, Josh.
Nice to meet you, EagleX! I’m in the same boat myself, all the way over here in London. This has been a week of real education in this arena, and the uniform is one area that I may have learnt the hard way, after picking one up on ebay which may be a wasted investment…
Hey EagleX, welcome to the site! If you’re putting together a good costume on a tight budget, I’d recommend getting most of your stuff from the shop. When you balance out the cost vs time aspect, the shop is a great value. Not only that, but you also get a nice discount with a supporting membership.
Welcome to the site.
Advice…Never rush things. Do your research and ask questions. The search bar on here will save you alot of headache. Chances are your questions may have already been answered 100+ times. And don’t go crazy spending quickly making yourself broke…then skipping out on or using off the wall items to complete something quickly, it certainly shows to the rest of us fans. Like many of us on here…we we’re not busters overnight. It took me personally over a year sourcing ideas and parts to put my uniform and pack together. You will easily spend about $1,000 in the process on quality, just take your time. Buy a couple cheap pieces one month, buy something pricey a couple months later. It’s a time consuming hobby. But the end result is priceless. Look forward to what you come up with!
And since you’re in Dallas. STAY AWAY FROM BOB’s PROP SHOP. ![]()
Much agree with Bloodvayne… take your time, do your research, and buy things little by little… it gets expensive if you want accuracy, and especially if you want aluminum, so make a budget, put aside money every month to save up for the expensive stuff, and keep an eye out for sales from time to time in the sales section… it took me about 15 months from start to finish… for some, it may take longer… if there’s anything I truly learned out of my experience with building a prop, it’s the value of patience…
