If I’m going to make a mold out the proton pack that I’m building, any idea how much rubber I’m going to need. I don’t want to get too much, and then again not enough.
I’m looking at getting the rebound 25 by smooth on as Dick Blick carries it, and I have one not too far from me, but I wanted to get someone else’s calculations. I’m thinking a gallon, but I’m not sure.

Use the search feature, you need about 5 gallons of silicone to pull off a good pack mold…
that’s if you have it correct the first time…
Yep and it’s for the most part an all or nothing deal, if the mold is bad or doesn’t work out it pretty much a total lose… Even to the point of destroying the original pack in many cases…
I would greatly suggest considering to get experience on smaller (and cheaper) things first. but what do I know? LOL
Hell yeah.. no way would I try to mold something like this without experience. Even though I do have some modeling experience, no way in hell I’d even consider myself good enough to attempt it.
