Looks very very nice!
Tanks abaka! ![]()
No problem, I’m hoping my gun kit should be here from Throwing chicken sometime this week, although not gonna be able to start constructing it untill I get my trap complete and that’s probably gonna take me up untill I go on my holiday
My plan of action is Trap before end of May, gun by mid June and then proton pack by mid August…That should give me plenty of time to compile the money needed and time to construct the stuff!
you sound like a man with a plan!! give me a shout if you need any help.
nice work ![]()
I loooooove that positron collider. What happened on the handle that sits on the front of the gun?
Love the color, and the weathering. NOW ADD SOME LABELS! ![]()
It´s a great gun man.
SAl
THANKS! yeah i got a tiny bit of superglue on the front grip and hand to sand it off. dont worry its all been painted over now ![]()
labels soon, just need to get to a printer (unless someone here wants to print me off some
)
well shes all finished (aprt from lights but ill tackle them later, i want to concentrate on the whole pack construction first).
i know its not 100% accurate but i had to use things from around the house for parts until i can replace them with the real deal (clippard, metal knobs etc). but for now i think it’s turned out ok and im very happy with it
also a huge thanks to AJ for the online store, really helped me out. anyway, here are the pics. enjoy…
Very inspiring! I want to to start building a full proton pack + gun (well, let’s start with the pack at least) from scratch this summer (have already purchased quite an amount of material required), and that will be my first attempt, but this is very inspiring indeed… What kind of material did you use for the gun’s main case, may I ask?
thanks! im glad i have inspired you to start on your own pack ![]()
the material i used for the main body is 3.5mm thick styrene sheet. i used to work in a supermarket and found out all the “half price!” and “SALE!” signs were made from the most perfect material for scratchbuilding things like this so one day when the boss’s back was turned i grabbed about 8 sheets of it hehe. but you can buy the same stuff in art shops.
good luck with your pack!
That is a very impressive thrower Nick, u say thats ur first attempt at building a prop?
Are u sure? haha
seriously that looks awesome, im no prop builder but i so admire all the work you guys put into recreating these movie props, must take a heck of alot of time & dedication but the finished products always look damn amazing
I love the weathering on this thrower, not to much & not to little
Give yourself a :crunch: ![]()
thanks!
i must clear up though that this is in no way my first prop, but my first attempt at a movie accurate thrower.
glad you like it and thanks for the Crunch bar ![]()
No worries about the Crunch bar, hope you liked it ![]()
yeah sorry i meant to put congrats on your first attempt at a thrower, not your first prop
Im just bowled over with the work that goes into these things, in a word AMAZING!!
