started to build my first thrower few weeks ago and am at the point where i feel i can let you all have a peek. Please remeber this is my very first attempt at one and it isnt 100% accurate but i think its looking ok for a scratchbuild using odds and ends from around the house (although i did buy the grips from loveusmonkey and the green hose and brass connectors came from AJ). anyway here are a few pics of it so far, just got the clear tip and details to finish off, then its on to the proton pack!! woop woop!! anyhoo, pics, any comments, advice, critisisms most welcome ![]()
you sure thats your first attempt cuz it looks sweet for a first attempt. even got a slightly used look to it. nice man.
well apart from making throwers from small cereal boxes when i was 8 this is my first attempt yeah. i drybrushed lighter grey all over it then added silver to some of the edges to make it look all used and dirty. thanks for the kind words ![]()
That looks really good Nick! Nice work!!
Lawrence
thanks lawrence! and thanks again for the labels ![]()
looks great im currently building my own gun from scratch as well
Griff
The gun’s looking great, Nick. Once again, I envy your nice weathering detail. ![]()
Is your intent to eventually kit it out with lights?
yeah i intend to fit a light kit inside when i have a chance (and the funds
) only problem its so cramped in there i dunno if theres enough room. hmmmm.
Ooooh very nice!..and just the right amount of weathering too.
weathering is great!! I like it. nothing wrong with custom stuff…
thanks guys! was quite hard to stop myself going overboard with the weathering but i just had to bare in mind that less is more. think ill let “natural weathering” take its course from here on. should have it all finished in a few days so will post up completed pics soon! watch this space ![]()
That is some nice work nick.
Well done ![]()
I think you should make some gun kits next lol ![]()
the thought has crossed my mind ![]()
Damnit, I’ve already bought my gun kit!
Thats a real nice thrower…excellent job weathering it too.
I hope when I start my first gun I can get it to look half as good as that. Good no no no, GREAT Job!
Thanks Luke and promark707! If you need any help and advice when you start your build ill be more than happy to help you out. just shoot me a PM if you need me ![]()
Thats a very nice thrower.
I will most likely take you up on that offer. I just ordered exorays’s gun and pack light kits today, so once I get those I plan to start. Thank you
