If you look at some older screenshots the “rookie” looks like Louis.

He has frizzy hair and glasses. I’ve also seen screenshots that look like he has dark skin. So I would say that character customization is going to be implemented. Or at least I hope.
Yeah I guess when they were still deciding on a look, he looked like that. I think the character will have a definitive look. No customization I think they’ve said. 
I saw a couple of those early screenshots in EGM when the game was the featured story. Definitely looked to be African-American, I thought it was Winston.
thats who i thought it was, i was confused cause i kept seeing different people till i realized some of the pics were (or looked a lot like) the original gbs being used and brushed him off as winston

Even in the dialog, the new recruit’s name is intentionally left vague.
The guys keep referring to you as “kid” or “sport” or “new guy” or “rookie.” They never call you by name. If it’s in the dialog already, it’s pretty much a certainty that the new recruit isn’t going to get an official name. I think most people prefer it that way.
EDIT:
It appears that in the Wii version, you choose, at least, between a male and female “new recruit.” Perhaps we’ll see at least SOME customization in the final product…
Has it been confirmed that in the Wii version, the Rookie is based off of the look of RGB Egon?
If that is indeed the case, then Sierra should definitely take advantage of Unlockables to get the whole RGB crew for the game.
I hope they leave it recruit. It would welcome you to the gameplay better than assuming a whole identity.
i would prefer either making my onw identity in the game or playing a character made specifically for the gb story
but both are good (even though i prefer there to be a already existing character
maybe they’ll do it like mass effect were there is a guaranteed character but if you want you can alter his name and appearance
They need the create a Buster feature though, especially if a Black GB fan buys it and doesn’t want to be a white rookie.
He may also think, “why is there a need for another white guy? Couldn’t they make it fair and not just have a Token Black GB in Zeddemore?”
Obviously a lot of people like myself would just play it anyway and not be bothered what the Rookie is like but it would save a lot of petty complaints if CAB was in.
You have a very valid point. I like that the Rookie has no name, but a choice in sex and skin color might let players connect more with thier video game counterpart. Not toal customization, but something, y’know?
But then again, that kind of feature isn’t really standard on video games.

It would seem wierd having a female rookie considering the only females involved with the Ghostbusters are Janine and Dana.
Plus it said on the PlayrTV video that the game revolves around rescuing another female called “Alyssa”
From what I’ve gathered, but I might be wrong, “Alyssa” is Venkman’s love interest. According to a recent article different genders can be chosen for the PS2/Wii versions of the game. Something I think would really make the game universal.
I personally hope that they give the rookie a name because if this is supposed to play out as essentially the third movie then how can they leave a character unnamed? Think about it, if this was live action how many people would like it if they brought in an actor but didn’t give him any name? I personally hope they give the character a name and identity and maybe we will have a new character to add to the GB cannon. Just my opinion though.
We do have a new name for the cannon, his name just happens to be Rookie.
Dan- I’m pretty sure you’re joking but if you aren’t do you see how that just isn’t acceptable? “Rookie” is no kind of a name it is a cheap “out.” But as I said if my forum reading skills are where I think they are you are joking and in that case it makes no difference.

That’s hilarious! XD I used that name all the time in my own stories and such (she’s even one of my characters on Rock Band!), and was even debating using the name in my GB fanfilm I’m gonna start scripting soon!
