Howdy gents,
I know I very rarely post on here…but I am in need of help. For my webshow VGSpoofs…( www.vgspoofs.com ) Season 2 will have a few ghostbusters scenes…one will need the stream effect and possibly the trap effect. Is there anyone here who could help me or point me in the right direction? This could lead to other visual FX work and we are willing to pay.

we are going to need some for our movie, too. FXHome has a suite for $200 that does light sablers, and there is a twist mode. Mabe you can taka laser effect, make it long, slow it down, and warp it? I don’t have it yet, but there is a free demo version (don’t know if you can save or not)
Yeah. Most people use fxhome or fxlab pro ( i think they are the same thing?) as you can get a proton stream preset.
Personally im not a fan of it, as to me, its clearly a preset. suppose I’m a traditionalist stuck in a digital age…

I’ll have the footage in a day or two. Steve, my partner is still editing. But its only a 5 second shot really. Its more about the comedy, less about the FX or action, so I’m not entirely worried. After all, when we work too hard on being cool, we end up being lame. So I shot for lameness, hopefully I hit it.

I’m suprised that most photo/video editing software doesn’t have a Ghostbusters Effects Pack…especially Photoshop! 
So…no? And Brad and I are going to be working together, so whoever helps me, can help him…
I had a look at the footage this morning. Only problem I can see is the fact that its so light. With the background being snow, it gives the stream nothing to reflect off of, it would also be so bright that it would make the stream barely visible when against bright white. Yes it can be done… but it wouldnt look convinving if it wasnt done with the right transfer mode
