Tony he’s referring to dying the suit with grey RIT dye. The color you have there is much closer to the actual screen-used suit’s color than if you were to dye it. Tru-Spec suits turn an ugly grayish-green when dyed too much and its really easy to accidentally do just that.
If you still feel you want to dye it, consult jettajeffro for the recipe he uses on his Arizona team’s suits.

A little touch of purple does great things for khaki Tru-Specs.
Modern khakis are typically a warmer shade with a slight yellow tint. The khakis of the '80s were slightly cooler shades. This can be simulated by dyeing with a little purple.
I totally agree with the purple dye. The only problem I have had with it is that it turned my velcro pure purple.

Tony, nice purchase, my man. Jairus, how much purple? A cap full? I’m wanting to knock down the tint of my Tru a bit.
I’d use 1/4 a bottle, depending on the suit size. Just mix it with a little salt in a washer full of water (for a small load), agitate a bit, then drop in your wet suit and let it run for a normal cycle, then give it a wash right away (to get out any residual dye on the suit or in the washer).
This is the method I’ve used on khaki Tru-Specs in the past, and it’s worked very well. It’s subtle, but I love the vintage khaki tone it gives it, especially in pictures.
You can remove the velcro beforehand and sew it back on afterward if you’re concerned about it darkening, as it will soak up the dye much more than the suit itself.

also, if you get a chance grab a belt from the gbfans shop. that one you have there is almost perfect but the shiny brass eyelets are distracting.** also they’re not accurate**
Yeah…didn’t realize that until it was blaring me in the face…but, I guess people like shiney things? (not purchasing another one for that purpose alone, but that’s me…it’s rather incidental…but good point)
