New pack light help

Hi, I just joined this group so that I could ask a question. I am in the design stage at the moment and have not yet started my build but I am getting ready to start construction on my very own and first Proton Pack. Now, I have been looking on here and will be using many different ideas as well as some of my own so I would like to say thank you to everyone that has posted stuff about their builds. I will also be getting the sound board from here as well. Now my build is planned to be completely from scratch (with the exception of the sound board) and I want to do this for the lights as well. The problem I have at the moment that I would like some help/advise on is how (what to use) to get the lights on the cyclotron lights to speed up and go solid when the pack is overheating and start getting the warning beeps then the shutdown and vent then back to normal?

If you are going to drop the $60 for the sound board, you might as well drop the $45 for the light kit that does this function already. Is there a reason you want to build just the lights from scratch? Because if it is cost, I’m not sure the $60 plus the other things needed for the custom lights will come out cheaper than the light kit add on.

The instructions for the sound kit are pretty good (although I don’t have one to be sure). It looks like there is an input for a fire button and this data is sent over the header to the light kit since it will speed up as you say. So you should be able to reverse engineer that fine. A microcontroller like an Arduino or something should let you take that input and do that easy speed up and vent in software. However at that point, you might as well do the whole thing from scratch or buy both kits.
