No More Post Editing. - IMPORTANT UPDATE

Important Update. See here: GBFans.com

The edit feature is no longer available on posts that were posted 60 minutes ago or later.

When creating a topic, choose the subject carefully. This will be the subject of that the topic will have if you do not change it within 60 minutes. Also when making a post proof read it as you will have 60 minutes until you cannot edit it again.

I know this will cause some issues on forums and I will try to fix it for those cases. (Namely the For Sale forum).

If this doesn’t work out, I might change it back..

I say . . . .

GOOD FORM!

I’m screwed.

me two

eep.

as am I

Good. I’m excited about this.

Why? Why is Dan exited about it? I don’t see what difference it makes either way. I guess I don’t need to know, I’m just curious. Why am i so curious? Who am I? What is the meaning of it all? Who are you gonna call? Oh i just edited this very post- he he i had a typo. oops.

yea yea

What?!?! I ma agianst thsi!

What if we mdae a mistkae thna ew cat’n fix it anymroe.

What if we have to make updates to our posts?

Boo!

You have 60 minutes to fix any mistakes.

If you want to post updates you can click reply.

I don’t particularly see the point of this. Why would you feel the need to limit how long a person can edit a post?

I’m gonna be so screwed the next time I post a fan fic–I’ve been updating the thread title and a link in the first post every time I put up a new story.

I guess I’ll just have to get Ben to edit it like I had to do on GBCentral.

So, in other words, choose your words wisely, children.

Weird, I can still edit my posts. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah but than we can’t update the main topic.

For example, let’s say the topic is, “For sale, proton pack for $2000”.

Than we can’t change it to, “For sale, proton pack for $1500 (new price)”

Or something like this, “Pictures of the Ectomobile!”.

We can’t change it to “Pictures of the Ectomobile (new added pics!)”

Or “Pictures of the Ectomobile (updated 8-17-09)”

Ask a moderator. It’s not hard.

i miss the edit button already :frowning:

Me too however I can see where it can be useful as people are held accountable for their posts (wording) and can’t go back and change it once they realize how…(Edit)…it was.

It is a bit of a pain for interest list updating though but I guess it’s workable.

I’m working on making it so you can edit For Sale posts.

Perhaps there will be an option that will allow you to edit the first post of a topic as well.
