Paypal / online selling question

Just wondering if anyone can fill me in here;

I have some items that I was thinking about selling online. My question is how can I go about receiving funds online through paypal (which I have) yet I do not have a bank account linked to paypal account? Paypal only has my credit card details.

Is it still possible to accept a payment and obtain the funds through paypal if all they have access to is my credit card information? I really DO NOT want to link my bank account info. to my paypal because there are just way too many horror stories out there.

Any info. on this would be greatly appreciated guys. Especially since the FAQ’s on the paypal site are nothing but garbage. Thanks all!!

I’m pretty sure you can still accept funds. But if someone pays you, the money is going to “sit” in your PayPal account (meaning you won’t be able to transfer it to your actual bank account). But you can still use that money to make online purchases with retailers that accept Paypal. Does that make sense?

If you get a paypal debit card you can withdraw the money immediately from an ATM but it takes a few weeks to get your card if you get approved.

At the top of the Paypal page there is a withdraw menu where you can request a check.

Something else to consider if you use Ebay, is they are supposedly shifting to a more “buyer freindly” stance, supposedly protecting buyers by holding some ebay payments for as long as 30 days, in case they need refunds on bad sales. This apparantly doesn’t even change if you have 100% good feedback.

So don’t use ebay to sell for quick cash, because you might find out it isn’t as quick as you might hope.

I think the requirement is that they hold your funds for 21 days unless the buyer leaves positive feedback, or the delivery confirmation shows the item was delivered. Then they release it.

At some point they trust you, I think its 1 year or 100 positive feedbacks.

For some reason they put me on the delay list after selling our spare PKE meter in Sept. I haven’t touched ebay since then, and just got an email that its back to instant payments again, even though I’ve had no activity what so ever, and my rating hasn’t changed. (And its been 100% for more years than I can even remember.)

And they never held the Sept payment, just started it after that sale completed.

(I think they were just trying to make a bunch of interest holding a lot of money for a length of time, personally.)

i had to refund 650 dollars for a pke to the uk because the buyer was unresponsive to emails, and you need a valid phone number to ship internationally with ups; because i was saving my own ass, im on paypal’s fee hold. it’s 21 days or sooner w/ positive feedback or delivery is confirmed.

you HAVE to get delivery confirmation to get you money sooner. not to mention it’s a cya thing because buyers have screwed people in the past, knowing that if they paid the seller cant leave anything BUT positive feedback.
