oaky, so i know this has been talked about before, mostly on how they did it in the movie, but does anyone have any plans on how to actualy get the clear tube of the wand to extend on the proton gun? i think it would really make my costume better, but i’m not a very technical guy, and would never be able to figure this out on my own… well, not without ruining my costume anyways.
Its been talked about but I dont think anything has come up.
Id try and spring load it and let it be released manually.
Put a stopper in the pipe, insert a spring, put another stopper on the end of the tube. Drill a little hole in the side, get a small plastic push bubble? (I dunno what it is, but its used on canes, and crutches to adjust the height) Make a stopping point at the end of the gun (so the tip doesnt fly out) and your done.
When you go to fire your gun, just push the bubble, the spring will make the tube entend and when your done, just push it down and your reloaded.
that could work… i might actualy try that, o something similar. maybe even rip apart an old eendable umbrela for the parts or something. good advice!
Someone built one that was like the movie. There’s a green switch left of the handle on the back of the gun that pushes it forward. I dunno how he did it and managed to put lights on it as well though, but there were some mechanics inside that push it forward, but dunno if it pulls it back.
I remember seeing those [plans somewhere too ecto, he had a mini spring hooked into the gun that made the barrel shoot out and a little trigger inside for when you pulled the green wire it released the spring letting it pop out
There aren’t many “plan” out there, you pretty much have to figure it out on your own. Not TOO tough, I was able to pull something off, though the one I built keeps breaking in different places, oh well, still works the way it should. This is a link to ONE “plan”

wow… those are awsome. i’m sure i can figure something out… although it may have to wait till next year. halloween’s getting close and i only have so much time tofinish up my pack (and the ones i’m building for my friends).

As for it being a small place for electronics, tell me about it. I had to mount the board for the electronics in my pack and extend all the wiring up to the gun, that was a job and a half.
