What type of hook is used on the thrower wand so it can hang from the belt?
where is the best place the position it on the wand?
and where would i put one on a finished thrower?
all that hook is, is an S-hook from the hardware store:
it goes around the rear disc of the guntrack and is held in place by a washer
Get a stainless steel one. They’re much thinner than the zinc ones and you can easily bend it with a couple pairs of pliers. Plus it’ll fit better.
are there any alternatives to the S hook? my thrower isnt built so sound its only wood.
What kind of wood? Unless it’s balsa I suspect it should take the load just fine. My thower was wood. In fact the bottom of my thrower was 1/16" wood, with a resin baseplate attached to that and the hook on the resin, with a couple screws holding the resin baseplate to the thin wood, and it held.
I wouldn’t reccomend attaching the s hook directly to a 1/16" board, but I assume you have a thicker baseplate on there of some kind. It should take the load.
