looks great! Is the PPD attached? It seems to be stuck just to the flat face of the EDA where it should be sitting in a little curved shelf inside the EDA corner…
Yeah the PPD is just sitting on there for the pic. I seem to be coming down with a touch of man flu so i didnt do much today, was planning on cutting the bit out of the EDA for the PPD but decided to leave it alone for now.
Prob chop my finger off with the dremmel or something the way i feel right now lol 
Just a little update. Work is keeping me away from getting this finished recently 
Been collecting various bits and bobs since i started the build and today i got a great hose kit and booster frame from Nick-a-tron…
Been spending a lot of time trying to lighten up the whole thing by removing some of the MDF from the back of the cyclotron area. It worked pretty well, shaved a couple of lbs of the weight and spent some time today mounting everything to the motherboard…

Well ive been playing with this a bit more today. When the only tools you have are a dremmel (with very few bits), a steel ruler and a knife this di-bond stuff can be a right ■■■■■■ to work with at times lol.
All these little details are taking me forever to make but i think the end result will be worth it. Anyway, after searching everywhere in my local town for some allen bolts i turned to Ebay and they finally arrived today so i…

mounted the fake Clippard (minus its silver lid) after doing the two discs it sits on of course

finished the cosmetic plating around the left side of the Cyclotron (i was missing a couple of bits)

drilled the bolt holes for the bumper and mounted it

made the cosmetic plating on the gearbox and glued it all on, then filed the edges a bit to make it look faaaar more pleasing (it’ll look even better once ive got some primer on there

ripped off the PPD as i wasnt happy with where i had glued it on. It just stuck out too far in my opp (you can see it just sitting on top of the Cyclotron in these pics)

made a bit for the end of the tube that sits in the middle of the gearbox and glued it onto the end of the tube (that was a total flippin time vampire to make lol)

discovered that my shoulder straps on my ALICE pack seem to be missing the part that goes from the buckle on the strap, down through the round hole in the frame. Theres something else to add to the purchase list.
8 ) put 4 bolts into the HGA

spent a good couple of hours trying to source all the little elbows and fiddly bits for the hosing from the UK and gave up in the end lol.

More proess today. Those cosmetic strips are a right pain in the backside lol…
First i have to cut a strip of dibond…
Then i grind out a groove from the back of the strip in the right place to allow me to fold it around a corner…
Then stick it in the right place and very carefully fold it around the corner. You only get a couple of folds out of this stuff before the allu splits so you really need to get it right first time if possible…
Then i cut some more tubing and made the bit that the hose goes into above the Clippard and the other bits of tube to the left of that…
That’ll do for today i think
Hopefully ill have time to do some more tomorrow but Mrs Svee is off to hospital for an eye operation so i might not get a chance with the kids lol.
The HGA is GIGANTIC :3

And the strips might give you a better bend if you don’t grind out so much metal. Gives it a little “curve” instead of a sharp corner.
Yeah it is a little too big. I had to settle for what i had to hand (old drain pipe) to make it. Its only 3mm too round so i can live with that

Wow!! This is coming along a treat Svee, I’m loving that bumper, fancy knocking up another?
Little bit more progress today… drilled the bolt holes for the booster (up until now its just been sat there), fitted the booster frame, fitted the krank knob and filled those two tubes under the booster with wood and a little body filler, sanded them nice and smooth and fitted them to the pack.
Gotta do some work on the middle bit of the booster now though, one of the bolts for the booster frame now gets in the way and it doesnt go into the booster tube as far as it used to lol (see it sticking out the top in the pic below).

Svee I have an offcast HGA you can have if you want. Just shoot me your address in a PM Also simple way to fix your booster plug problem, just slice some off the top! No need to mess about with the booster frame screws etc.
This is a truly inspirational thread. Watching this one closely!

Still got to make the N-Filter and Nick-a-tron very kindly gave me an offcast HGA (as mine is a little on the big side) which arrived today so i need to prime and paint that yet. Thanks again for that Nick mate
Scored myself a dixie cup bracket, Clippard Fittings, spectra ribbon cable, SMC fittings and a ribbon Cable Clamp which will hopefully be winging their way to me as i type.
Not sure if im going to attempt the thrower from scratch though. Im really liking Nick-a-tron’s resin kit. Just got to get the money together lol :roll:
Looking really good so far, Svee. Has the Power Cell window been cut? And do you have the discs for the EDA?
