Welcomes Dan Aykroyd to our store on April 27th. In conjunction with his visit, we are offering a special opportunity to purchase signed bottles of his Crystal Head Vodka
holy shit, can it be true? this is my one chance. Shit, they told me today I have something to do at work for 3 hrs at 9AM I’m gonna see if I can either get out of it or leave early to be there in enough time if there’s a line. If I leave at noon, I should be able to make it, I’m pretty sure I could be able to get out of it. Should I suit up?
For those of you in the Orlando area, Dan Aykroyd is going to be doing a signing at the Publix in MetroWest next Sunday (the 26th) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in support of his new wine label. Not sure if he’s just signing wine bottles or if he’ll sign anything though. I had a friend see him on this tour up in New York and said he was a great guy, and even got some pics with him, so it seems like it’s a pretty laid-back affair.
I called the Publix and can confirm that Dan will be there promoting his new wine collection.
Here is the number and address for the Publix he is attending:
294-0448
2435 S Hiawassee RD
Orlando, FL 32835-6346
1-3pm, signing and selling bottles of wine.
The first 100 get a free autograph and that he will sign anything, making it sound like after those first 100, you’d have to buy a bottle of his wine to get near him…
I’m thinking I might not full suit it, I might just wear my slime blower and a GB shirt, and will buy some of his vodka, especially depending if that’s what he’ll definitely sign and hopefully get a pic with him. I dunno.
I will bring my Slime Blower and maybe see what others there are doing.
The Tampa Bay GB’s were at the Publix this morning…Barker, Ludy, and I all got to spend a good 10 minutes with Dan, who was AWESOME!!! He signed a bunch of our stuff, including my pack, and had his people take pictures of him with us and Ludy’s Stantz Figure…today could not have been cooler I’m sure we’ll have pics posted up on here soon
That had to be soo freakin cool!! I wish I wasn’t in the middle of moving so I could have gone too! ugh anyways congrats guys can you die happy now? J/K
I went to the ABC thing yesturday as well the City Walk thing.. I had a blast!!!
Dan loved my concept art for the Ecto’s, as well the blueprints I have. He loved the checker cab concept, so I went to City Walk and gave him an extra copy I had.
I’m not at my computer yet, so i don’t have the few photos I got uploaded yet. but I have one from last night at Citywalk thanks to it being sent to me
It was good to see everyone and meet new faces! It was certainly an amazing time both at ABC and City Walk!
And being called the female cadet and getting yanked across the table for a huge hug for being one was bay far awesome! Akroyd had his publicist take a photo with all of us, like he does with all his packed up/costume/tattooed/creative fans ! He truly is a great guy and most defiantly took the time to pay attention to everyone at ABC and get there things signed! there were over 300 people there! and he stayed late to take care of them all!
Those of you who got bottles signed at abc were lucky you got it there! the asking price at city walk which came in a really cute light up bucket and had a fancy screw top.. $185!
They had crystal Head shot specials where you got to take home the crystal head glass! and if you got up and sang onstage you got a Crystal Head Vodka shirt! (I so went on stage the shirt was to cool not too!)
Yeah, meeting Dan was quite the awesome experience! I was thrilled with how impressed he was with my 12” figure. I explained to him the history of when and why I made it, and he was like, “Wow, this is outstanding, great job! You need to be working for Mattel…I’ll write you a letter of recommendation!” LOL! Who knows if THAT will actually happen, but I was glad he liked it. He even had one of his “people” take photos of it. He hopped up from behind the table to sign our packs and take a photo without even having to ask… he was a great guy and a joy to meet!
I have a million pics from yesterday but literally walked in the door a few minutes ago. Great to see all you guys and hang out for a bit. Dan was totally awesome and accommodating of everyone! Unbelievable guy and unbelievable day!
I’m really glad I stuck around and he came out and signed the Ecto Truck for the Tampa guys.! Soooo cool. Then he said “thanks everyone!” the people at the store were really nice and all too especially if you know sometimes how people can be in situations like that. They announced that he was signing no more than 3 items to keep things moving and as many pics of Dan as you want but no pictures “with Dan” which they ended up doing anyway pretty much. I thought that was awesome that he’d even sign that much! 3 things times how many people that were there. Great day. I’m still in disbelief. Totally worth the long trip. I knew I may never get the chance again.
Your figure totally rocks Ludy! I’m glad you got to show it to him! you should have been like “what number should i give mattel for my recommendation?” hee hee!
I’m sure we’ll have pics posted up on here soon
