question, im gonna grab some goo-gone tomorrow and wipe the white letters off the gloves, but i was wondering if you guys wear the cloth gloves inside the rubber gloves>?

it seems like a pita, i was wondering if you guys do use the cloth gloves if i put the cloth glove on and used some kind of rubber friendly adhesive and then put the cloth glove with my hand in it, inside the rubber glove, when the adhesive gets sticky i can then remove my hand leaving the cloth glove stuck inside

this is only a theory im guessing you guys just discard the glove?

I just keep the cloth glove in my leg pocket. And it stays in there when it goes through the wash. I haven’t spent more than a couple minutes with the black gloves on, it’s been too hot.

My 4 easy steps to tying your boots.

Step 1 - lace boots and tie a bow. Extra points if you tie them using the bunny rhyme.

Step 2 - tie a knot at the end of the laces by the aglet on both ends.

Step 3 - pull the loops so the knots at the end pull tight against the knot from the bow.

Step 4 - tuck the bunny ears, I mean laces into the sides of your boot.

Voila! Neat and tidy and no floppy ears hanging out.

If you squint, you can see the knot from where I tied the laces together in the middle.

excellent jay! i can totally understand now, why i knot the ends! thats for teaching me how to tie my boots, see i never noticed the laces weren’t dangling there. the laces i have now i dont think will even reach the top, the top 2 holes are empty in order for me to tie them

tomorrow im tackling allot, silver zippers, spraying the pads, hopefully stitching the no ghost, and leg hose

heres alittle teaser to what ive been doing at night. planned on having the nexi’s wired tonight but 1 damn led popped free from the super poxy… so i;ll have to wait until tomorrow…

my flight suits been in the wash 3 times a day the past couple of days, i dont know if its breaking down yet, i throw it in with my work clothes every night hoping the work cloths helps it deteriorate. it doesnt take long for the work shirts, and dicky pants to look old. hopefully it starts to really look different

i thought i had fabric softer but i dont, what i have is for babys cloth, my brother leaves it here because even though him and his wife live in their own place, they still come back home to do there cloths along with the babys lol

so like i said our washing machine is always going towards the end of the week, forgot to mention! my sister works in boston and comes home on the weekends and she does her cloths as well. so ever load i throw the suit in

had a wicked busy day today. first went out and waited for autozone to open and lucky enough only had 1 charcoal grey left!!


i snatched that real quick. i tryed finding a vacuum T for my leg hose, they had a universal one but its black… i dont know how i feel about it being black since the rest of the threads i saw use a white one


i guess i could paint it if i wanted but i think im gonna leave it black for now

next i hit up my girlfriends favorite store with out her, her hobby is making custom cupcakes and we shop at michaels alot


now surprisingly there isnt a very large thread section!? i there was 3 different reds, so i picked the closet match. i dont think its 100% but it sure is close


not having any sewing stuff, i picked up a nice letter bag with pins, finger cap, and other misc stuff for 4 bucks!, grabbed some gel glue, needles, and magnets. i also grabbed some light tan thread for the leg hose connector but i dont have it pictured


i cant believe how expensive the magnets were! 5.99 for each package

now the next thing has to be the biggest find for the day! right across the block is a joanne’s fabric. theres acouple of them locally i dont know if you guys have any around you but its wear my mother always use to drag us when we were kids anyway

i searched the entire store for elastic fabric and no luck… i then finally asked a lady and she said the best thing she has was some material she had to make swim suits. so she took me to see it and it was a no go… i described the elbow pad and saved some pictures from here on my phone so she said " boy, that looks like belt banding, right this way" she brought me to this!!


i think this stuff is exactly what i was looking for! i was so excited to find it, she told me to tell all my friends ( i explained the site) that they should ask for elastic belt banding, they use this to make belts.

better yet, she gave me the item number, i dont know if joannes has a website but if they dont if there is one locally to you, you can give them this number and they can order it for the store. the number is in red


now i have a question for u guys, phil, jay get those buzzers ready!


the mics read out almost 3" wide, how long do u guys make them? i have to go check out some more ref photos, i wonder if they are 3"x3"?

while i was at michaels early on, i also grabbed some silver sharpies to color my zippers on my boots. i just came in the hose and quickly tried it, it went on good. im just concerned if the silver will stay on the zipper, or if its going to wear off…

Those t connectors I got were from Home Depot if you can find some there.

Elastic belt banding totally makes sense now because when I would ask for elastic, no one knew what I was talking about. Even when I said it’s used for pants.

I want to say I did my width at 3.5" but I know it’s in a tread somewhere. I’ll check.

You betcha! I find that I use 1 pen per pad. I didn’t quite make it through both one 1 pen. I do the detail lines in the middle first while the tip is still sharp and the just colour around the line. I also decided on the 3" black elastic and use a 3 1/2" long piece to give it the best screen look I could. I haven’t sewn the top and bottom edges yet, you need to stretch it out while sewing it so it’s not tight while wearing it. The black elastic has no up/down stretch so I simply tacked the 4 corners and sewed the sides.

jay i remember you telling me to use goo gone to remove the lettering on the GBfans gloves. i stumbled upon this and figured i’d give it a shot

Quick, like 10 seconds. I if doesn’t all come off at first try a little more for 5 seconds. I melted mine from leaving it too long, maybe 30 seconds. It didn’t ruin them, it just made a the rubber raise to the same shape of the pool of goo gone I put on. The wash then with lots of dish soap to get all the goo gone off as well as the powder or whatever it is off. Turn inside out and wash the inside too. You can quickly wipe the gloves entirely when you are removing the goo gone too, it’ll help get ride of any other residue on them.

Oh no no. DO NOT leave it over night. It’ll eat your gloves.

10-20 seconds seems like enough.

I think Jay might have used too much. You don’t need to use much for this stuff.

Wipe, Wash, rinse.

Wipe with paper towel.

Mine came off perfect. Jay I hear, left his on for too long.

ok i was able to upload some pics so yesterday this came in!!

you know i thought it was going to be allot larger then what it is.. i dont know if its going to look too small on my chest? though STANTZ has the same number of letters as my last name the double T’s in STANTZ makes the tag alittle longer. the L in my name looks real short… i dont know we’ll see when i get there. i think im going to order 2 more anyway ROOKIE and HALLIWAX. just to have for a future suit (slime)

i thought this was going to hold up my build, and feared i’d have to wear the uniform friday night without it, but lucky me it showed up yesterday!

all that was left was my belt clips and gizmo holster from tyger. but when i came home today!!

they look amazing, i absolutely love them! big thanks to jay for pointing me to tyger for the clips!

now! i got some work done last night before sunset. i used a hack saw and cut the ■■■■■■ off the leg hose connector ( LHC) . at this time i also used the hack saw to cut the black vacuum T. i made 2 versions, 1 short version like what u guys do to the white T. and a long version. i put one of the magnets in the long T’s figuring if no one likes it i can cut it.

but yes, as Jay instructed i used a small drill bit to make a starting point, then used a paddle bit and bored the LHC deep enough to get the magnet down at the bottom

at this time i also drilled the holes at the base to stitch her on to my leg

i made the hole go all the way threw so i could squirt some super glue gel up there when dropping the magnet down

there you can see the large T in place, this is with the magnets also installed but not glued, im just judging the height of the T making sure it doesnt look weird

here we go with the hose connected with the T and magnets to get a idea of what it will look like hanging on my lrg

cant really decide what i like more, regaurdless im going to lowes this weekend to try and find a clear one ( or white, the kind i have seen on here) i think i like the clear/white one better then the black

Looking good! The black fitting looks good, but a clear/white one might blend in better!

I also recommend the white t-connector, but your short black one would work pretty well.

Mat, GohstTarp thanks! i just got home from the dentist, if it wasnt for that i would be at home depo hunting. on the way home i stopped in sears hardware and had a hard time explaining what it was used for.

i told him vacuum line for brake booster on a car… nothing in automotive. then i figured maybe water hose line for a water purifier… nope… i looked threw all the bins they have with random desk parts and stuff.. nothing. surprisingly not even barbs?! figuring sears would atleast have barbs

hey jay, what section did u get the T at? im pretty sold on the white too… it will hold me over for this weekend but once i find a white one im swapping.

thats another thing jay, it is loose in the hose. i mean the hose will stay connected to it, but you can pull this out with ease. i was wondering even if i get the clear one if i should run some clear silicone over it and let it harden. then push it in?

after all the drilling tonight im hitting the pillow before this anesthesia wears off

my head is banging.. im in so much pain i cant lay down, what better to do? “haunt” my friends on GBfans.com!

i put my suit threw the wash today and used fabric softener. amazingly this is the first time ive ever used softener, and if anyone else out there is using the fabric softener trick make sure its High efficiently friendly, lucky enough i grabbed the right one with out knowing

anyway, i pulled the suit out and placed the GBfans name tag right over the velcro tag on the nomex. i think to my eye thats exactly where its suppose to go, judging by a few pictures.

this last picture is what im confused. do u think i have it too close to the center zipper? i have also noticed the tag hangs alittle across the left breast pocket, which i scored in the picture above. i just fear its too close to the zipper
