My Thoughts....

GB3 has been in the works since last year.

We all know Bill is good at going off radar.

With all the talk about it, it will happen.

It might even be being made as we speak.

Hollywood is very good at dodging people, and keeping things low if they want.

Seeing with the Ghostbusters fan base. Being world-wide.

Biggest cult movie ever made and all.

I mean if you where on bored with the staff and makers, I am sure you wouldn’t want people to know its being made.

With all the ‘crazed fans’…

Sometimes a movie can be in speculation forever, and then all of a sudden a trailer comes out a few days before release.

Unless it is a brand new idea. Then they release a trailer up to 10 months before release.

Ghostbusters does not need any before release date promotion.

Some bigger novels, or graphic Novels get a trailer a week before release.

A good example? The Big Year. Prolly coming out in the spring.

Its a well known book, I am an extra in the movie.

I was told its release date is early spring.

They already have trailers for movies coming out this summer. And photos of movies coming out late this year.

But the Big year? Being filmed last spring?

There is nothing? Not even photo’s.

It was kept low key, that is my point.

Actors in films, need to sign an agreement when going to work. To not say anything.

It is not theirs to promote, it is the film companies.

Anyways, I am babbling.

I’ll stop now.

Just don’t have low doubts about it being made.

They have spent 3 or so years on scripts.

And with Atari’s success with the Video Game.

Sony knows what’s up.

And they are pushing it.

For all this Bill Murray nonsense.

He is a comedian.

And I find it funny. How he jokes about it.

He has already said ‘I really enjoyed playing Dr. Peter Venkman again.’

From the video game.

I like how you type

It makes me think of Haiku.

You type like Pirate.

Murray’s pushed to do

Nightmare of his whole career

Venkman dies in vain

I forget the rules of Haiku, and am too uninterested in looking it up. Plus I suck at poems anyway, so anyway.

I may be in the minority in that I don’t mind Bill’s hesitation. The fact that he would do it only if he liked what he saw in the script makes me feel good about the chance that the third movie will be worth watching when it comes out. When they release another anything in a franchise years or decades after the last enstallment it’s usually just to cash in and the script is only done in a way that seems that they didn’t care because the name will put butts in seats regardless of the damage to the reputation this lower wuality movie will do to the franchise overall.

If he holds out until he likes what he sees that means we the fans are more than likely going to get a film that we will like and will make up for the long absence of any new media in the franchise. I don’t want a new movie just so we can have a new movie. I want a new movie that will do justice to the first, make up for the low points of the second, and give us fans a movie to go out on.

Just please don’t kill Venkman, am so not in love with that idea.

Heh…

Anyways, they aren’t forcing him to do it. I agree with the whole it will suck if they do.

I am just saying, they’ve gone through tons of scripts the past few years, and now the writing team is trying even harder this year.

Murray won’t jump aboard unless he is positive it will be good.

He did GBTVG and that was good.

As far as I know it has the VG crew, Dan, and Harold trying to wright one up.

And that’s what I’m saying, I don’t mind Bill holding out and the writers having to really focus on the script in order to entice him. In the end it means that the fans will probably get something other than a lame movie cashing in on the name.

Of course production companies can hide shoots - but how can you hide 4 characters in iconic uniforms (and gear) and a big car with a no-ghost logo during filming on public streets? It’s not being filmed now.. you are speculating based on nothing.

I like how you bring up some obscure film about bird watching that no-one would recognise being shot unless there was a banner that said “THE BIG YEAR MOVIE IS BEING SHOT HERE”

But the Big year? Being filmed last spring? There is nothing?

Note the date of the link.

  1. Lets look at all the Ecto Mobiles out there. Or the Ghostbusters worldwide.

I didn’t know it was so big untill I came to this site.

It is EASY to hide a car. Garage’s. closed off parking lots. Not to mention studios.

Alott of TV is done in studio these days, NEVER on location. Someone goes, takes wide screen pictures. The rest is done with green screen.

2.Yay for the cast and story of The Big year?

It’s a book. People know what it is about.

I don’t see how you think you have an arguement here.

I meant trailers, and publicity photos.

Please by all means link those to me, and not some article mentioning the book, and the cast.

Easily found on IMDB as well.

If you meant ‘trailers, and publicity photos’, Why was part of your argument no-one knew when it was shooting..

The link clearly says it is shooting in May - I believe that would still be considered Spring - unless the Summer solstice came early in 2010.

  1. I guess you are not much of a fan.

  2. The Ghostbusters 3 rumours have been circulating for about a decade or more - and have really been coming to strong public attention in the last couple of years.

If there was GB3 shooting - and in production - do you really think no-one would know about it? Are you truly that naive?

Right - all the stories circulating point to a made-for-TV-movie of Ghostbusters 3.

Also, just for a clarification, a lot of movies are shot on location - I don’t recall hearing of a car crash in a studio lot that looked like Times Square (oh wait, that actually was a car crash in Times Square whilst shooting the Sorcerers Apprentice), or when another car crash happened on a studio lot whilst filming Transformers 3 (oh wait, that actually was a car crash on location), or when.. well, you get the point.

When filming a vehicle driving around iconic locations - they tend to actually go for the real thing, only opting for CGI when it’s not safely / physically possible.

Your enter key wants to know why you punish it so much.

While I love the thought of Ghostbusters being the biggest cult film ever made, That title has to go to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”

It’s been playing in theaters continually on a weekly basis since the film was released onto the midnight movie circut in 1976/1977. It also has the distinction of being the longest running theatrical release in film history since it is still in circulation.

Yes, Rocky Horror is a horrible movie (even drunk ) but it does hold that title.

Anyways just thought I’d throw that out there.

I can agree there.

I don’t like run on sentences, makes it harder to read.

@njukgb - Since I wont quote your huge reply.

  1. I guess you never mis-word things eh? Must be nice to speak perfect every time.

  2. VERY OBSERVANT! You deserve a medal or something. Mmmhmm.

  3. Sure, not a fan at all. You are correct. Who would ever come to the silly conclusion that I like Ghostbusters!?

3.1. THEY SURE HAVE! Again I love how observant you are. Wow…

Last couple of years. YES! Wow man… You are on a role…

  1. Cool, car crashes? I don’t see how this relates in any way to proving your point.

I am aware I am an ■■■■■■■. This is told to me often.

Maybe I just like to use the enter bar as much as my space bar?

You know…

To make it feel not so left out.

So you meant to say something else, but wrote a question that there was nothing about when it was being filmed? O.k. - why not just say that instead of directing me to IMDB - which would not be an article PRIOR to filming, reporting on it IS to be filmed in the Spring?

Moving along.

Moving along.

You imply that they NEVER shoot on location. My point was that they do shoot on location. If they didn’t how did car crashes happen, if they ‘the rest is done with green screen’?

i like nicholzz, he’s the only french speaking member that tries to speak english. cut him some slack.

When I was in New York I saw a Dodge Magnum driving around with Ghostbusters logos all over it. They are definitely filming it!

I heard about that - the only picture I can find is this one;

NOT A LIE.

Maybe if you made sense, I could actually follow your arguement here.

It is cool that you can quote everything I say. But I really don’t understand how it defends your no points in any way.

And yah, maybe with the Ecto thing, I’ve never seen any here in Canada.

Maybe they are more common in the USA?

Well good for you all!

You respond with that ‘your points make no sense’… and don’t offer any counter-points to support your ‘thoughts’. You truly are lacking the ability to communicate any attempt to respond.
