New Illustrated pack plans: Sneak Peek!

Heya folks!

It’s been a while, creatively speaking. :whatever:

As some of you may or may not know, I’ve been fortunate enough to get in on the project that Postmortem and Slave-1 pilot as well as a few other talented folks are currently engaged in.

Now, I built my first crappy pack back in 1989,…

Observe,…

Horrifying,…I mean,…really?

Ever since then I have had one tiny dream that keeps going through my head as I lay it down on my gossamer pillow every night and that was to have FOUR indentically constructed hero packs with GB-1 ribbon cable, as much aluminum as made sense and all with lights and sound,…

Over the years, this goal has eluded me but now with this project, the resources that CAME to us, the resources they FOUND, (and YES,…there’s ALWAYS new things to discover), and the sheer volume of information that has been “assembled under one shop”, so to speak, is making all of that possible.

Because there’s so much info, we want to release a catalog of plans, schemetics, construction methods, part numbers and material info.

There will be** two versions available,…the straight-up, black and white CAD’s that have been created for the various parts and will include all of the numbers as well as the horrid “higher math” language that makes me cry,… and THEN,…a new version of *illustrated plans ***that will show exploded views, hard to see details and some new innovative construction techniques including a schematic for the extending firing barrel.

NOW,…I want to make it clear that I, in no way, nor the team of people I’m working with, want to get in a ■■■■■■■ match over 1/16th of an inch of some measurement being off.

You should use whatever plans appeal to you. No one is 100% right, no one will ever be. That being said, while I cannot, out of respect to others whom have donated time and resources for a shocking amount of development, go into details of where we got all of our numbers,…we have had access to an impressive amount of screen-used parts, pieces, photos and “hands on” experiences" as well as confering with other talented builders that have given us, after fourteen or so versions of the particle thrower CAD’s alone, and TWO versions of the pack itself, (new info comes in almost daily), an amazing set of numbers and I think the project leaders are pretty satisfied with the final result.

I know I am.

And as a great nerd once said,…“if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing” and I couldn’t agree more.

So, as proof that I’m not full of poopy,…here’s a ROUGH,…very rough,…did I mention it was ROUGH?..sneak peek at the format I’m tinkering with.

The printable version will not have all the yellow because despite it’s sunny, positive color, the biggest complaint I got about the old plans was that it was killing people’s printer cartridges like crazy,…

So without further ado, (temporary logo, border, type, etc,…did I mention it was rough?), the new illustrated pack plans as brought to you by yours truly and the swell fellas at GB Nerds!

An extensive look at the construction of the particle thrower, both inside and outside), will be the first. Stay tuned for more and more plans to trickle out in the weeks and months to come.

Thanks for lookin’!

If I were a part of this, I’d be excited to be a part of it. Seing as I’m not, I’m still excited, and being on the verge of assembling my “most screen-accurate 1984 Ghostbusters Proton Pack”, this is coming in at a good time, especially talk of details and barrel mechanics.

Let the good times roll!

Superb! I can’t wait to see more!

The King has returned

I’m speechless… Time to start on a new pack!

Fantastic! I’m highly looking forward to these plans

just plane WOW!!!

i love it!! these will be epic!!

My wallet and wife hate you right now. I, however, am intrigued to see what you’ve got in store for us.

My first thought was you guys have a connection with Sony about reproducing packs in the event GB3 ever happens. Can you confirm or deny such an idea?

GB3 will never happen
