Awesomeness! I cant wait!
crying inside (out of joy)
Fantstic work Sean! tips cap.
Thanks, Nick! There are a LOT of you guys out there like you who don’t need ANY plans.
But there’s ALWAYS newbies.
Whenever I make up a set of illustrated plans I always try to think of the type of guidance I would have loved back when I was starting out building this stuff. That’s one of the reasons I put that old picture of me in the crappy gear up.
THAT’S what a noob looked like in 1989,…
I want today’s noob to** START** where I finished. ![]()
And with a project and a group like this, I HAD to document it. Too much smart work being done not to share.

Well,…other members of this team are the ones who do this for a living. I’m just a glorified hobbyist. They would be in a better position to hear and relay info like that but honestly, having spent considerable time around them, I’ve never heard any chatter about GB3.
As far as I can tell this is simply a nerd labor of love.

This is awesome. I look forwards to seeing the new plans.
EPIC.
Wow! These look like they are going to brilliant, can’t wait to see the finished articles!
Fantastic! I love your stylized and artistic presentation of your schematics!
Thanks fellas.
I appreciate the kind responses.
There’s a LOT of excellent plans out there that service every skill level for every builder. I’m hoping these will simply add more flavor to the soup.
While I’m shooting for more of a layman’s approach, the CAD’s the rest of the guys came up with are just killer.

Looking great, Sean. I was disappointed when your old site went down, but glad to see you back at it. Your molding tutorials got me through a lot of binds and confusion.
Will it include the bumper and motherboard this time? Even if not it still looks like it will be fantastic.

Sean, how far along would you say the project is? Do you guys have a specific date in mind for completion, or are you keeping that hush hush to avoid disappointment with any delays?
So juicy sweet!
Well looky who done got flushed outta the brush?
It’s a Volguus sighting!
Kingy-boy, in answer to your query, there is no planned “release date”. I think my goal is, as we finish each phase of the project to the point where we’re happy with the numbers and overall shape of things, we’ll, (and I use the term “WE” loosely as I am a mere facilitator in this sandbox in most respects), will agree on the info and dimensions and I’ll draw up the plans for that portion and release them in small groups.
For example,…(and this is just off the top of my head),
1.) The particle thrower, (int/ext)
2.) The Proton pack
3.) Individual parts
And should, perchance, we decide to branch out, (which is always possibly yet not currently planned), you may possibly see,…
4.) The Ghost Trap (revised plans, though not far away from the ones I did a few years ago)
5.) Stomp Pedal
6.) Belt circuit,…and if we’re REALLY feeling frisky,…
7.) PKE meter, (step by step how to modify an actual Iona)
8.) Geiga meter, (as modified from a scrubber/buffer)
and if we’re really, REALLY feeling double-secret probation frisky,…
9.) The Slime Blower.
I realize there’s probably some members of the crew that might read this and be like,…"What the fk is he babbling about?" and they’re well within their rights. I honestly don’t think the build project would last even through number 6. At SOME point, you gotta move on and start a new group build just for sheer change of pace but I’d **certainly like to continue a comprehensive set of interior and exterior plans right the Hell on up to number nine.
May not finish,…may take YEARS,…but that’s what I’d like to give back to the community as an ultimate parting gift as I FINALLY complete the gear I’ve wanted since i was seventeen and embark upon the grand journey of finishing my 1:1 scale C-3po, Artoo, Boba Fett, Darth Vader and last but not least my “As-God-is-my-witness-I-WILL-have-this-as-a-coffe-table-in-my-office-someday” Han in Carbonite. ![]()
Does,…does that answer your question? ![]()

As well as some other outstanding projects in the shop that have been gathering dust like,…
My GIANT Deboer Enterprise refit garage kit
The Klingon BOP that accompanies it in scale
Tom Servo
Crow
Gypsy
1:1 Scale Iron Man
1:1 Scale, “as-God-is-my-witness-I-WILL-have-this-as-a-beer-cooler-at-my-Halloween-partis-someday” Ark of the Covenant and accompanying staff of Ra complete with the correct headpiece, (“You know the one I’m talking about”).
Okay, I’m done.

Who?
well played.
Are the diagrams in your first image just for wrapping metal around a pre-existing shape, or are they for all scratch built metal ion arms?
