I’ve been planning on doing a big fat re-do on the thrower of the pep pack. I ripped it apart this week and here’s where it begins.
Everything removed. Horrible vent holes plugged and leveled.
First good sanding and I added the post for the top knob. My first edition had no post…oops…
I set the knob on it just to size it up.
Nice start/restart. I used the post as a spot to rivet the rear handle to. It makes a nice secure handle along with some steel stick.
Good idea. I’m thinking I’d like to save that space to do a volume control. I’ve got a huge list of possibilities. We’ll see how it rolls out…
I’ve gotten much done on the re-build…
I still hate my vent holes. I need to lighten up my brown on the grips. I’ll add a bit more orange on the next coat.
Thanks Alan! You keep up the good ideas so I can follow along!
Made some more forward progress today
Since all the cool kids have the front cut out in their IB, I wanted one…
Done.
Here’s where it stops for the day
Coming along very nicely sir!!

This has been a good week. Here’s the thrower progress…
Most knobs are still taped on just for mock up and sizing.
I still need:
make a gun track
order a few light covers
1/8" brass rod
correct/better screws for the banjos
size and drill out gun ear hole for button and hat light
clean up, drill and mount rear cylinder
mount palm rest
and....labels. The damn labels
Has anyone found gun track discs out in the wild? I’ve been spending some time at Ace Hardware digging through the bins but just can’t seem to get there.
