I’m getting my 1:18 scale Ecto this week and from all the pictures I’ve seen, it comes without Proton Packs to sit in the Gurney. I’m working on fixing that little oversite.
I took Stefan’s Plans: http://www.gbfans.com/equipment/plans/stefan-otto/ , shrunk them to 1:18 size and printed them out making multiples of different parts. Then I transferred them onto Styrene and cut out the pieces. When you stack them up they look something like this.
Yes that is a Matty pack next to it and no, not all the pieces are there yet. Some pieces are too thick and will need to be sanded thinner. In fact I have a whole lot of sanding to do.
I also have to find Styrene rod / tubing to match the other Pack Parts. Don’t think I’ll be able to wire this one.
… making a cast and then selling them too! I know many will want to have a ser of 4 for their own Ectos. I know I would buy them if they where for sale, looking great man! can’t wait to see them finished.
I’d definitely be in for a set for my Ecto. However, let’s let Capt start up a interest thread in the marketplace if he decided to go that way.
Can’t wait to see the next update on the miniature build. I think I’m going to have to get some polystyrene, based on the excellent scale builds that’ve shown up in the past year.
Don’t get too excited, most of that detail is printing and will be gone when I start sanding the parts to shape. That’s about 12 individual pieces your looking at right now.
I took one of the full pack print blanks and popped it on the gurney. The Packs will be taller with the Thrower and Hose attached but it looks like there will be plenty of room to slide the gurney in and out when it’s full.
Only problem I see is that only the front floor catch seems to line up with the back rest, the other 3 are shifted back beneath the rests, so they might have to be glued in place or extensions added to the catches.
Does anyone else think that Licence Plate looks too much like a Lemon?
YES! I had emailed you about this previously. So glad you’re doing this and will DEFINITELY be in for 8 of them! (4 for Ecto-1, 4 for the upcoming Ecto-1A!)
A small update, which is what you’ll be getting on a project this size.
I shaped the Cyclotron Cover and put on the Lights, attached the Clippard to the Synchonous Generator Platform ( which still needs some sanding to round it off a bit ) and started on the N-Filter.
